Remembering Sally Ramon PDF Print E-mail

BAAITS is sad to inform the community of Sally Ramon’s passing.  On Monday August 6, 2012, Sally passed quickly, she had been having issues with her health since she first entered Laguna Honda in San Francisco approximately 2 years ago.  For many who visited Sally at Laguna Honda, we know she always did her best to be in good spirits.  The staff of the hospital enjoyed her company and she always had a sense of humor despite any health issues she may have had, and we know she will be missed by many communities.

Sally Ramon, was a founding member of BAAITS. She was Tohono O'odham, spoke her language and very proud of her culture and community.   She opened doors for our Two Spirit community at many pow-wow’s.  Sally was a veteran who served in the Army, and she carried the American flag at many a gathering, she was also asked to do the opening prayer for many ceremonies and events.  She worked for the City of San Francisco Planning Department for over 13yrs. Sally also performed with the Brush Arbor Gurlz bringing a "touch of class" to the stage and to all of our lives. Memorial will be at NAAP, 8/21 around noon, more info TBA.
